Amanda McLean, Ph.D.
I am a Licensed Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. I currently work with young adults and adults in individual psychotherapy. I have specific training with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, adjustment to life transitions, and trauma.
I'm a trauma informed clinician, utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques to empower clients through a nonjudgmental and respectful style of communication. My approach to therapy also incorporates cognitive, behavioral, and value based treatment strategies.
I believe that people are uniquely shaped by their early relationships, especially family relationships and subsequent life experiences. By participating in therapy people can address their struggles, strengths, and life choices. My sessions are client-centered and focused on helping clients gain insight into themselves and make behavioral changes. I provide a safe, encouraging, and respectful environment where those committed to therapy and change are able to find solutions.
My services are provided via telehealth. I am able to provide telehealth across state lines through PSYPACT. The virtual approach to therapy approach allows convenience for many individuals. The choice to pursue behavioral health services can be confusing and overwhelming. My goal is to provide a space that makes you feel accepted and comfortable as you begin this journey.
